According to the World Health Organization, most of the diseases that are common in the elderly, such as osteoporosis, diabetes, high blood pressure, and some cancers are directly related to a poor diet.
Some of the factors that may hinder proper nutrition in seniors include lack of appetite, medication side effects, poor dental health, poor physical health, lack of funds, lack of transportation, memory loss, depression, and other mental issues. At ACIS, the nutritional needs of our clients are important, and it is because of this that we work together with their health care providers and family members to see to it that they get the nutrients they need to maintain a healthy body weight, nourish their bodies, and stay energized.
